Sometimes the cards don’t always go your way. If anyone should know that it’s Berks County-based Penn Entertainment, one of the largest casino operators in the country.

Usually, however, when the cards don’t fall your way, the house wins. That’s how Penn Entertainment (formerly Penn National) makes its money after all.

In the case of ESPN Bet, Penn Entertainment put the chips down in hopes of a big payday. But, the chips aren’t falling how the company hoped, at least so far.

This isn’t the first time Penn’s bet on a sports company wasn’t going as planned. Exhibit A: Barstool Sports.
