In North Bend, the Plank House Restaurant at the Ko-Kwel Casino Resort is opening its doors again after two years of renovation and rebuilding.
Along with it comes an injection of jobs into the community.

“We really rely a lot in Coos Bay on tourism, and by upgrading the restaurant we’re giving a new offering with fresh local seafood, and we put about 60 new jobs into the market,” said Michael Laffey, the Ko-Kwel Casino Resort marketing director. “We definitely wanted to get it up before the summer influx of tourism.
