For the third month in a row, New Jersey’s internet gambling market took in more money from online bettors than Atlantic City’s casinos did from in-person gamblers in January.
Figures released Tuesday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement show casinos and their online partners won nearly $259 million from online gamblers in January, up nearly 17% from a year ago.
That easily outpaced the $213 million Atlantic City’s nine casinos won from customers gambling on their premises, a figure that was up 1.6% from a year earlier.
Total gambling revenue for casinos, racetracks and their partners was $586.4 million, up nearly 6% from a year earlier.
