Erik Richman took over the Varsity Sports Bar and Grill four years ago and he spent a thousand dollars in 2022 on a license that allows sports gambling in his restaurant with a kiosk.
While he expected to have it start right away when sports gambling launched in Ohio on Jan. 1, he is still waiting and getting frustrated.
“It’s frustrating because we did advertise for months leading up to this, saying we were going to have this,” Richman said. “Not only that, they’re advertising it on their website saying we are one of the locations, and we still can’t do it. So, we have people coming in here and get disappointed about it.”
