Thor Gjermund Eriksen has joined Norwegian betting and lottery operator, Norsk Tipping, as its new CEO, having been appointed by the company’s Board of Directors.
Eriksen joins Norsk Tipping from the country’s national public broadcasting company, Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). At the NRK, he served as Director-General of the organisation from 2013. His position was not due to expire until 2025, although he had previously expressed his wish to explore a new career path.
Eriksen will step down from his role as Director-General on 29 April and, after a short break, will assume the role of CEO at Norsk Tipping from 12 September.
On his new role, he commented: “This is a very exciting and challenging job, and I am very happy to have been given this opportunity.”
