The Steuben County Board of Commissioners on Monday went on record that they want the county to be part of any discussions on relocating casino licenses in Indiana.

This comes as the county went through a whole community discussion on the same topic in 2007-2008 when a license holder of two Majestic Star casinos in Gary wanted to move to another locale in Indiana and selected Steuben County due to the intersection of Interstate 69 and the Indiana Toll Road.

“I think we should … be part of the discussion, since it’s going to fall in our region, it’s going to impact us one way or the other,” said Wil Howard, president of the Board of Commissioners.
