Nearly two years after breaking ground, the Catawba Two Kings Casino is taking shape off Interstate 85, about 35 miles from Charlotte, with its first major expansion scheduled to open in late March.
More than 900 workers are currently on site as construction continues around the clock on the billion-dollar project.
The introductory casino, the first major expansion beyond the temporary facility currently operating on site, will feature 1,300 slot machines, 22 live table games, and a bar and restaurant area, according to Trent Troxel, vice president of the Catawba Nation Gaming Authority.
Electronic table games and slot machines have already been delivered to the site.
