It’s a safe bet to say that New Yorkers love to gamble on sports.

New Yorkers wagered a total of $150 million through four betting apps during the first weekend of the Empire State’s legal mobile sports betting program, according to Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposed budget for 2023.

Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel and Rush Street Interactive, which launched the state’s legal mobile sports betting program on January 8, reported that a combined 650,000 unique player accounts were created during opening weekend.

The program is only expected to grow. New York’s online sports betting market is expected to hit $1 billion in annual revenue, according to analysts at Macquarie.
