Gov. Kathy Hochul has promised to recuse herself from all state business involving her husband’s company, Buffalo-based gambling and hospitality giant Delaware North.

Hochul signed a recusal agreement on the issue in August and released it today. In it, she promises to stay out of all matters involving Delaware North, including any applications for state aid, lobbying efforts by the firm and more.

She also promised not to use her position as governor to benefit Delaware North…

Hochul’s husband, former U.S. Attorney William Hochul, is currently general counsel and senior vice president at Delaware North. The company has tens of millions of dollars worth of contracts with the state and is seeking a share of New York’s new online gambling business.
