There’s only one Sin City, but could New York City be the next “America’s Playground”? According to “realistically optimistic” state legislators, New York may be poised to give Atlantic City a run for its money.

The state’s fiscal year 2023 budget, which is nearly a week overdue, could include three casino licenses for the NYC metropolitan area.

Sen. Joseph Addabbo Jr. (D-Queens), who chairs the State Senate’s Racing, Gaming and Wagering committee, described the prospect as “a significant step for the state,” Fox5 reported.

Both he and Mayor Eric Adams see casinos as a very lucrative opportunity for New York, particularly the Big Apple.
