Live horse racing was called off Monday at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino, the third straight day all the races were canceled.
A winter storm that began last Friday and lasted through the weekend brought steady rain and snow, affecting the track.
Nine thoroughbred races were scheduled to be run on Monday. Last Friday, four races were held before the last five races were cancelled. On Saturday, nine quarter horse races were canceled and on Sunday, nine thoroughbred races were canceled.
