The sale of Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino is complete.

The sale of the 66-year-old facility in Sunland Park, New Mexico, on El Paso’s west edge, was announced Oct. 1. But not all financial details were revealed until the deal was finalized Oct. 15.

Strategic Gaming Management, owned and operated by Jon Grant Lincoln, a Montana-based gaming entrepreneur, bought Sunland Park for $301 million, according to a company news release.

The purchase was partially financed by Strategic selling Sunland Park’s real estate assets for $183.7 million to Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc., or GLPI, a large Pennsylvania-based gaming real estate company, and leasing back the property.
