How hot was July for New Jersey’s gambling industry?
The state’s online gambling market set another monthly revenue record — and Atlantic City’s physical casinos did even better than that.
All told, the nine casinos, two horse tracks that accept sports bets and their partners won $606 million in July, the second time this year that total eclipsed $600 million. That was 10.7% more than they won last July.
Internet gambling set another record at $247.3 million, up 26.6% from a year ago.
And figures released Friday by the state Division of Gaming Enforcement showed the casinos won even more than that in July: $284.1 million, up 4.3%.
Much of that, however, was due to the continued success of Atlantic City’s two newest casinos, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City and Ocean Casino Resort.
