Work is progressing on the new events center at Stateline.
“The elevator shafts are up and it’s coming along on schedule and under budget,” Douglas County commissioner Wes Rice said last week. “I’m certain we won’t end up with another South Lake Tahoe hole.”
The Tahoe South Events Center is expected to open by early 2023 and will feature 4,200 sporting or entertainment seats or 6,000 stage event seats.
Construction began in spring on the $80 million center located next to the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. More than 50,000 cubic feet of dirt being excavated from the site is being repurposed for landscaping features and fill dirt at Edgewood and Tahoe Beach club.
