The rise of online sports betting apps has captivated sports fans worldwide, particularly teenagers, due to the convenience and growing popularity of these platforms.

According to Appsflyer, casino app downloads doubled in 2024, marking a 94% increase from the previous year.

In Nevada, the legal age for gambling on most sports betting apps is 21, but some apps like Prize Picks and Underdog Sports allow users as young as 18.

These apps offer a different type of betting, known as “pick’ems,” where users bet on players rather than teams. An 18-year-old online sports gambler explained, “as an 18-year-old kid who, you know, I don’t have a job, I’m just a student, it it’s an easy way to make quick, fast money.”
