Keno has been a staple in the state for nearly 40 years but now that casinos are coming to Grand Island, local Keno operators are worried that their customers may take their business somewhere else.
Shirley Swift has been running Keno in local bars for nearly two decades and she said she’s excited for gambling to come to the state but she’s worried how it could affect her livelihood.
“I love it, I love the idea, just so they don’t take our Keno business away,” she said.
She works for Michael Nevrivy, a Keno operator who’s been in the business for 25 years. He said he expects the new law to take a hit to his business.
