The NCAA is enhancing its push for a nationwide ban of college player prop betting, it announced Wednesday.

The organization has already pushed some states in that direction this year, with Maryland, Ohio, and Vermont all banning college player props in 2024. Some states, like Virginia, never allowed college player prop bets. States such as North Carolina, however, allow for legal college player prop bets.

NCAA President Charlie Baker says the NCAA will increase its lobbying effort throughout the nation beginning this week.

“This week we will be contacting officials across the country in states that still allow these bets and ask them to join Ohio, Vermont, and Maryland and many others and remove college prop bets from all betting markets,” Baker said in a statement posted to social media.
