The new Mechoopda Casino south of Chico in Butte County will hold its grand opening in less than three weeks.
The casino off Highway 149 and Openshaw Road will open to the public on February 15. Action News Now took a peek inside the building. There are more than 400 slot machines, a restaurant, and a bar. The management will not allow photos of the interior until its open to the public.
The general manager of the casino Dana Dubois told Action News Now the tribe has been working on the project for more than 20 years.
The white tent-like structure is a temporary structure. The long-term plan calls for a more permanent structure.
