Last week, the Capital Revitalization Committee, a group of lawmakers looking at ways to improve Jackson, heard from a group that thinks a casino could do just that.
The group is called Capital City Forward Together, which includes former Governor Haley Barbour, who — just like the committee — is looking to bring some life back to Jackson.
The members who spoke to the Capital Revitalization Committee were William Richardson, Richard McNeel and Conrad Eber, who made it clear to lawmakers that they are not associated with any casino companies and are not acting as lobbyists. They are simply businessman who believe a casino would help create an economic boost to Jackson by bringing tourism and creating more jobs.
