TwinSpires announced in an email to customers Thursday night that it would be closing its Michigan online casino and sportsbook on Sept. 6.
It gives an end date to the brand’s online gambling arms, six months after it was announced TwinSpires would be leaving the space. TwinSpires first announced in February it was moving to close its online casino and sportsbook. It later announced it was ending progressive jackpots as of July 31.
The TwinSpires horse racing website and app, however, will continue to run.
TwinSpires has struggled to gain much market share in Michigan. It’s 10th out of 15 operators in all-time Michigan online sportsbook handle with just over $27 million.
