MGM Resorts showed some love to federal workers at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Wednesday. The casino-resort operator dropped off care packages for agents with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
These workers are not being paid because of the lapse in funding for the Department of Homeland Security.
It’s the second shutdown in the span of months that has forced TSA and CBP agents to work without pay, though airport officials say they have not dealt with the long wait times reported in other U.S. cities.
An essentials pantry is also once again open at the Las Vegas Airport, offering workers non-perishable food, toiletries and other essential items.
