The Taunton casino “Welcome Center” could be expanding from 50 slot machines to up to 250 slot machines, according to a draft agreement between the city and the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.
The draft agreement has not yet been signed and has yet to go into effect.
The draft agreement was discussed at the Tuesday, July 1, Taunton City Council meeting, and ultimately the Council voted to take the item back up at their Tuesday, July 8, meeting.
A spokesperson for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe declined to comment when asked by the Gazette about the potential increase in the number of slot machines at the Welcome Center.
