State and city officials are reacting to the potential sale of MGM Springfield and how to make sure the casino lives up to the promises made to the city that are laid out in the city-host agreement. 22News spoke with local leaders Thursday about potential deal.
According to the Bloomberg report, MGM Resorts is working with financial advisors on selling the Springfield casino and another property in Ohio.
Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno said he’s meeting with MGM Resorts International CEO Bill Hornbuckle to discuss the property. Sarno said he’s not going to let the obligations outlined in the city-host agreement fall through the cracks.
