The Massachusetts Gaming Commission recently released its 2023 Annual Report, which provides an updated state of affairs within the Commonwealth. It addresses Fiscal Year 2023, from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.
Highlights from the report included the following from Massachusetts casinos, racinos and sportsbooks:
- $1.2 billion in gross gaming revenue (GGR)
- $330.7 million in gaming tax revenue
- $228.7 million in Massachusetts sports betting adjusted gross revenue (AGR)
- $44.1 million in sports wagering tax revenue
Combined gaming revenue totaled more than $1.42 billion, with $374.8 million in state tax revenue.
Another $252 million was wagered in horse race betting during 108 days of live racing, which created another $18.6 million in Race Horse Development Fund distributions.
