The state Senate last week voted down an amendment that would restore about $3 million in casino mitigation money to the city, but local officials said they are not giving up.
“We have to regroup and get vocal because it is really important,” said City Councilor Sean Curran, who spearheaded the effort to grab back the money. “I don’t think this issue is over. I think it can be an election issue in the (2026) governor’s race.”
