Maryland’s casino sector marked a modest growth in February 2024, with the six privately owned casinos generating a combined revenue of $159.2 million from slot machines and table games, evidencing a 1.4% increase over the same period last year.
The collective contributions from casino gaming to the state for February amounted to nearly $67.8 million, showcasing a 1.3% rise compared to February 2023. Specifically, the Education Trust Fund was the beneficiary of $48.9 million of this revenue, representing a 0.5% increase from the previous year. Beyond education, the generated revenue aids local communities, the Maryland horse racing industry, and several small, minority, and women-owned businesses.
