Maryland: Casinos generate $154.9M in revenue during October

Maryland’s six casinos combined to generate $154,978,898 in gaming revenue during October 2021, Maryland Lottery and Gaming announced Friday. Last month’s total represents an increase of $12,660,085 (8.6%) compared to October 2020, when the casinos were limited to 50% capacity due to COVID-19.

Casino gaming contributions to the state in October 2021 totaled $68,924,035, an increase of $8,990,765 (15.0%) compared to the $59,933,270 contributed to the state in October 2020.

Contributions to the Education Trust Fund in October 2021 were $50,039,996, an increase of $6,472,504 (14.8%) compared to the $43,576,492 in ETF contributions during October 2020. Casino gaming revenues also support the communities and jurisdictions where the casinos are located, Maryland’s horse racing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.
