Macau’s gross gaming revenue grew by 23.9% year-on-year to MOP$226.8 billion (US$28.3 billion) in 2024, representing a second year of solid rebound since the reopening of the city’s international borders in January 2023.

It also represented a recovery to 77.5% of 2019 GGR levels, in an operating environment for concessionaires that is almost totally free of the need to pay junket commissions.

According to information from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), the final GGR figure for 2024 came despite a subdued finish to the year in December when gaming revenues reached MOP$18.2 billion (US$2.27 billion) – down 2.0% year-on-year and 1.3% lower than in November.
