According to provisional figures released by the Macao SAR Government, approximately 1,144,401 visitors entered Macau during this year’s eight-day National Day Golden Week holiday, averaging around 143,000 daily arrivals.
The figures, released by the Public Security Police, indicate that 88,993 mainland Chinese visitors entered Macau on the final day of Golden Week. This follows the 1,055,408 visitor arrivals during the first seven days, averaging 150,772 daily and representing a 7.4% year-on-year increase compared to last year’s seven-day Golden Week total.
The highest single day entry figure occurred on the fourth day of the holiday period on Saturday 4 October with 191,132 entries recorded, representing an 18.1% year-on-year increase and setting a new record for National Day holiday entries. Friday 3 October also saw 181,942 entries, a 5.6% year-on-year rise.
