Macau records all-time high of 40.06 million visitor arrivals in 2025

Macau’s tourism industry achieved another milestone in 2025 with the total number of tourist arrivals reaching an all-time high of 40.06 million – exceeding by 1.6% the previous record of 39.4 million set in 2019 and 14.7% higher than in 2024.

According to preliminary data released by the Public Security Police, the total number of border crossings for the year also achieved a record high of 235 million, up 9.8% year-on-year.

Among the total border crossings, Macau residents accounted for 36.4%, non-resident workers made up 26.1% and tourists accounted for 33.9%. The Border Gate remained Macau’s busiest checkpoint, handling 52.7% of all crossings, followed by the Qingmao Port with 15.4% and the Hengqin Port with 12.9%.
