Macau’s gaming industry generated gross gaming revenues of MOP$18.86 billion (US$2.36 billion) in April, up 1.7% compared with the same month last year. It was, however, 4.1% lower than in March, when GGR reached MOP$19.66 billion (US$2.45 billion) and represents the lowest monthly figure since January.
According to information from Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, GGR for the first four months of 2025 combined is up 0.8% year-on-year at MOP$76.5 billion (US$9.57 billion).
Macau’s gaming revenues have largely underwhelmed so far this year, with analysts pointing to the slow recovery of the base mass market and potential impact from a recent crackdown on illegal money exchange activities.
