The Macau government collected a new post-pandemic high of MOP$8.53 billion (US$1.06 billion) in gaming taxes in September, up 2.6% from the previous high set in August according to latest data from Macau’s Financial Services Bureau.
It is also 11.9% higher than the same month last year.
The September tax figure correlates to Macau’s gross gaming revenues for the month of August, when GGR came in at MOP$22.2 billion (US$2.76 billion) – up 12.2% year-on-year and setting a new post-pandemic record at that time.
For the first nine months of 2025 combined, the government’s revenue from gaming taxes reached MOP$70.4 billion (US$8.78 billion), up 6.0% compared with the same period in 2024.
