Macau gaming tax climbs to new post-pandemic high of US$1.04 billion in August

According to data released by Macau’s Financial Services Bureau, the Macau government’s revenue from gaming taxes in August was approximately MOP$8.31 billion (US$1.04 billion), around 2.5% higher than the MOP$8.31 billion (US$1.01 billion) collected in July.

The August tax figure correlates to Macau’s gross gaming revenues for the month of July, when GGR came in at MOP$22.1 billion (US$2.73 billion) – up 19.0% year-on-year and setting a new post-pandemic record at that time.

For the first eight months of the year combined, the government’s revenue from gaming taxes reached MOP$61.9 billion (US$7.71 billion), up 5.3% compared with the same period in 2024.
