Despite broader concerns about inflation and economic uncertainty, a northwest Louisiana economist says key local indicators point to continued economic strength in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

Doug White, an economist at LSU Shreveport, said casino revenue and air travel data suggest the regional economy remained resilient through 2025.

Casino revenue in the market grew 12.1% to more than $607 million, with a nearly 16% increase in the fourth quarter. The gains follow the February opening of Live! Casino, which had raised questions about whether it would expand the market or draw customers away from existing properties.

White said the data indicates overall market growth.
