The new owners of the former Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City have won approval to sell the abandoned property, which would delay reopening the casino until 2025.
Foundation Gaming Group is seeking to sell Diamond Jacks to Cordish, a large national entertainment, hospitality and gaming company. The Louisiana Gaming Commission approved Foundation’s request to move forward with the sale at a special meeting Tuesday.
Louisiana Gaming Commission Chairman Ronnie Johns said the final product will exceed Foundation’s ambitions and renovations for the basically abandoned property.
“It will set the project back a few months, but it will greatly enhance it,” Johns told USA Today Network after the meeting.
