Dozens of workers at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas have reached a new labor agreement, averting a potential strike at the off-Strip resort.
The Teamsters Union said Friday that workers voted in favor of ratifying a four-year collective bargaining agreement with the Rio.
This comes about two months after the union said the workers had authorized a strike in response to two years of stalled negotiations.
“Our members stood strong, and management had no other choice but to deliver,” Tim Vera, president of Local 986, said in a statement. “This win belongs to every worker who refused to be ignored, and it proves that when we fight as one, we secure real improvements.”
