Las Vegas: Harry Reid airport gets $16 million in federal funds for renovations

Harry Reid International Airport is set to receive more than $16 million in federal funding for projects aimed at renovating runways and phasing out diesel buses, according to U.S. Rep. Dina Titus.

Titus, a Democrat and member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation, announced…in a release Tuesday afternoon the airport will receive two grants totaling $16.4 million from the Federal Aviation Administration, including a $9.9 million grant. Funding will also come in the form of an additional $6.5 million from the Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development appropriations, Titus’ office said.

“I’m excited to announce this funding for Harry Reid International Airport which will support lowering emissions and improving vital infrastructure for the airport’s continued operations,” Titus said in the release.
