Football has a different feel in Kentucky now that legal sports betting has officially launched.
At Lexington’s Red Mile, it was a bit busier than usual this weekend. Pictures all over social media show tons of cars parked in a grassy overflow lot. A track executive said between the races and the new sportsbook, Sunday drew out as many as 5,000 people to the track.
“Everything has been above expectations so far. And, you know, we expected quite a bit,” Gabe Prewitt, vice president of racing and sports wagering operations at The Red Mile, told FOX 56, describing the atmosphere as “electric.”
