New renderings show how traffic and flood control programs will integrate with the Cedar Crossing Casino project currently being built in northwest Cedar Rapids.
A judge last week rejected a challenge from Riverside Casino looking to stop the project. They had argued a 2021 vote authorizing gaming in the county was worded incorrectly and therefore invalid, while also saying the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission erred in awarding Linn County a gaming license.
Now, the $275 million casino and entertainment center is being constructed and will include 700 slot machines, 22 table games, signature restaurants including Clubhouse by Zach Johnson, a 1,500-seat venue for concerts and events, and a arts and cultural center with a free-access STEM lab for Linn County students.
