A state record 8% of gambling revenue, an estimated $6 million, will go to local nonprofits each year through the Linn County Gaming Association.
Linn County was granted a gaming license in February this year by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission despite pushback and legal challenges from competitor Riverside Casino.
