Iowa casino revenue dipped slightly month on month in August, while sports betting revenue spiked up 27% in August, according to the latest data from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC).

This past month saw adjusted gross revenue from Iowa’s 19 casinos total $143.16 million, down from $150.04 million in July, representing a roughly 4.7% decrease…

All but one casino tallied monthly revenue losses in August, with Wild Rose’s Jefferson and Emmetsville locations and Q Casino logging double-digit losses. Diamond Jo (Worth) was the only casino to see its revenue go up. The property was up 4.57% in August.

While table games and slots at casinos struggled to grow revenue in August, Iowa’s land-based sportsbooks had no such problems, generally speaking.
