A Clayton County casino is celebrating its grand opening today as the riverboat casino makes its landside move official.
“This is something that, as a property, we have wanted for a very long time,” said Bally’s Marquette general manager Robin Corbeil. “It gives us more opportunities to provide better experiences for our guests.”
The 31,280-square-foot casino, the result of a $26.2 million project to move the riverboat casino landside, opened Feb. 27 and already has seen an increase in visits compared to the riverboat casino, Corbeil said.
A major change is the direct entrance to the casino from the parking lot. Previously, visitors reached the riverboat casino via a skyway.
“It is more accessible and more convenient for guests,” said Lauren Westerfield, a spokesperson for Bally’s.
