The Terre Haute Casino Resort Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the casino owned by Churchill Downs, Inc., has announced its inaugural grants; six awards totaling $2.8 million in support of community projects across Indiana’s Wabash Valley region, the Tribune-Star reports.
Recipients include Vigo County Schools, to expand student learning initiatives and in-school wellness and engagement programs; the City of Terre Haute parks and recreation department, in support of safety and accessibility improvements at Deming Park; Swope Art Museum, to renovate space dedicated to public programming and art education; and Wabash Valley Art Spaces, in support of efforts to reconnect downtown Terre Haute to its riverfront through public art and design.
