The Illinois Gaming Board reported casino revenue of nearly $104 million and video gaming terminal revenue of $205.4 million for November, with both figures representing month-over-month declines.
The casino revenue figure was 4.7% lower than October’s $109.1 million despite Hard Rock opening its temporary venue in Rockford, and it was 13.5% less than the 2021 high of $120.1 million established in July. Despite the decline, the state’s now 11 casinos cleared $1 billion in combined table and EGD revenue for 2021 and are expected to more than triple last year’s pandemic-affected total of $367.3 million.
Though the number of active video gaming terminals (VGTs) reached an all-time high of 41,472 — an 11.6% increase from the 37,145 in operation at the start of the year — net terminal income (NTI) dipped 6.3% from October to nearly $205.4 million.
