The SP Loterias Consortium, comprised of IGT Global Services and Scientific Games has been announced as the winner of the competition to operate the São Paulo Lottery. Initially, the Aposta Vencedora Consortium had secured the auction victory. However, they were disqualified for failing to pay the R$600 million [US$108 million] concession fee by the required deadline. Consequently, the SP Loterias Consortium has been granted authorization to take over the new state lottery service.
In May the government announced in a publication in the State Official Gazette , that, in accordance with the notice, the Aposta Vencedora consortium had been disqualified from the concession process for the São Paulo Lottery.
