Disappointment. Shock. Frustration. Disbelief. A variety of emotions permeated Sewell-Thomas Stadium on Thursday as many shook their heads.
“How the heck can somebody be so stupid?” said Jack Jones of Tuscaloosa. “I was shocked. I was shocked that somebody would do that if it’s true.”
Jones was one of the fans attending the Alabama baseball game against Vanderbilt hours after UA fired coach Brad Bohannon three days after Ohio stopped all betting on Alabama baseball, citing suspicious activity.
“Alabama director of athletics Greg Byrne announced he has initiated the termination process for head baseball coach Brad Bohannon for, among other things, violating the standards, duties, and responsibilities expected of University employees,” a university statement read.
