Holland Casino is expecting the increase in costs due to higher gambling tax to lead to doubts regarding the future of the business. In their annual report, the company wrote that although they expect operations to continue, there is “material uncertainty” regarding the costs.

Accountants questioned Holland Casino stringently. They accept the expectation from the company that they will be able to continue operations, but “far-reaching measures” are needed to be able to continue paying the bills at the start of 2027. Holland Casino suffered losses of 10.4 million euros [$11.8M] last year.

The state-owned gambling establishments welcomed more guests, but the guests spent less money per visit.
