It was standing room only Monday night as residents poured into the New Haven Community Center to learn about plans to build a casino here.

A Full House Resorts representative told the crowd the $500 million investment would include a casino and steakhouse in the first phase, and a hotel and salon in the second phase.

They’ve already secured about 60 acres on the corner of I-469 and U.S. 24 that would be annexed into the city.

Many residents were aghast to hear the location, with one man shouting that the intersection is already deadly. Full House says they will pay for road improvements that will include no tax abatements or credits.
