The former Barclays Bank in Oldham town centre could become a casino under plans submitted to Oldham Council. They detail the proposed signage for the casino, which would be installed above several doors and windows.

The building, on Market Street in the town centre, was formerly home to Barclays until the branch shut down in 2023. A Grade II listed building, it has remained vacant since the branch closed.

The plans show that casino and slot machine brand Merkur Slots is planning to move into the space.

The planning statement said: “The proposals involve the change of use of a vacant former bank to an adult gaming centre.
