The Heartland Events Center has maintained a packed schedule in 2026, and neighboring businesses say they are feeling the effects.
The Grand Island Casino Resort, which is physically connected to the Heartland Events Center, said it sees a direct impact from events hosted next door — a draw the general manager compared to Fonner Park horse races.
League One Volleyball is scheduled at the Heartland Events Center this weekend. Vince Fiala, general manager at Grand Island Casino Resort, said the event is a positive sign for the city.
“But anything in the Heartland Events Center, like this weekend, you have the League One Volleyball. I believe it’ll draw a really good crowd…” Fiala said.
